You can load and listen to these programs even as you continue on to other tasks with your computer!
Many sites now have Podcast and RSS buttons for selections.
Unfortunately, pauses for buffering are still normal for Internet
streaming. Especially for video and for audio sources with exaggerated quality settings. Dial-up type connections will have intolerable delays when trying to stream some media.
Some sites let you download a file completely before playing it (HTTP or FTP methods. You can use your computer for other tasks during the long download time). Playbacks of saved files might have no or fewer buffering pauses. Downloading places full copies of the huge source files on your drive.
If a Real media player is needed, the free 'Basic' version of RealPlayer is just fine, even if it may nag you to buy an 'upgrade.' (You can avoid some future junk mail by leaving a false email address in the format xxxx@xxx.com.)

via WLUW-FM Internet streaming. (Click

Independent Media Center
Chicago, with links to the global IMC site and intermational sites.
News stories, with photos and even video clips, are posted by people
throughout the day. IMC demonstrates how our own media can cover U.S.
and international events, countering the corporate media's distortions
or silence. IMC first proved its value at the November 2000 Seattle
demonstrations against the World Trade Organization.
